FAQ

Do you accept EBT?

Yes! We love being able to accept EBT because we believe access to fresh and healthy food should be a human right. Per SNAP guidelines, only food and beverage items may be charged. When placing your order through the SJIFH you will need to enter a credit card number to confirm, but your credit card will only be charged for non-food items or if there is a remaining balance beyond the amount of your benefits. Please contact Sarah Pope for questions and instructions. Email: sarah@sjifh.com

¿Tienes opciones en español?

Sí, puede ver el sitio web en su computadora portátil en español seleccionando el idioma en la esquina superior de la página.

Can I buy in bulk for my business?

Absolutely! There are a lot of high-quality, specialty products grown right here in the islands that have wonderful stories and great flavors to share. Please contact us about sourcing, preseason agreements, and weekly wholesale fresh sheets. https://sjifh.com/wholesale-buyer-application/

How do I order online?

Register for a San Juan Islands Food Hub account through Local Food Marketplace: https://sanjuanislandsfoodhub.localfoodmarketplace.com/Account/Register

An email, password, and payment information are required.

When can I order?

From 12:01 AM on Friday to 11:30 PM on Sunday.

Where does the food come from?

Thanks for asking! Priority is given to products that come from San Juan County (typically San Juan, Lopez, and Orcas Island) and then to regional food (for example: Island County). For value-added products, producers list all of their ingredients and are highly encouraged to source from within the county whenever possible. For products that come from outside of San Juan County, the product description will clearly provide sourcing information for the item. Our goal is to provide a diverse variety of high-quality healthy food that comes from as close to home as possible. You can read about all of the producers and their practices: https://sanjuanislandsfoodhub.localfoodmarketplace.com/Producers

How do I get my order?

For household purchases, you can pick up your order from three different locations on Wednesdays.

Lopez Island: 3:00-6:00 PM at Taproot Community Kitchen (1008-C Dill Road, Lopez Island). When you enter the driveway, park on the east side of the building. Come through the grey door with the SJIFH logo; your bag will be in the upright fridge to the left and any frozen items will be in the chest freezer beside it.

Orcas Island: 5:00-6:00 PM on Wednesday or 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM on Thursday at Orcas Food Co-op (138 N Beach Road #913, Eastsound) The Food Hub space is located in the Provisions pick-up area south of the main Co-op building, accessed through the green door in the courtyard. You’ll receive a door code in your confirmation email that allows for self-service. Grab the order that’s labeled with your name from the Food Hub labeled fridge and any frozen items from the adjacent freezer. If you have issues finding the location, please speak to Co-op staff.

San Juan Island: 4:00-5:30 PM at Brickworks (150 Nichols Street, Friday Harbor). If you’re driving, please go up Sunshine Alley and wait for a turn to park along the Brickworks building.

For larger wholesale orders, please contact us to discuss delivery to your business.
